Early Allergy Season

Warmer temperatures have given us a glimpse of Spring here in West Central Ohio, but there's always more to expect than just nicer weather around this time of year.

The season of rebirth comes at price to many as pollen will soon begin to fill the air. Tree buds have already begun to peak out from their winter slumber, bringing an early start to this year's pollen season. Unfortunately for those affected by allergies, officials say the season will not only start earlier, but last longer than normal.

Dr. Mark Kahle with St. Rita's Family Medicine at UNOH says avoidance is the greatest way to combat allergies, but thankfully there are plenty of over the counter medicines to combat the changing seasons. For those who may not know what they're allergic to, the best time to get tested for allergies is before the season begins.
