Can you recognize the difference between worry, anxiety, and panic in children? The 2024 Allen Lima Leadership class is helping answer that question with a free hands-on workshop.
As part of their class project, they talked to school counselors and learned the biggest need they see is helping children with anxiety. So, they are bringing in people from Miami University to put on an engagement lab at Rhodes State College on Thursday morning to help people better recognize and regulate worry and anxiety in children.

"Before COVID, it was stress that was the number one issue that children dealt with. But then, after COVID, it flipped to anxiety. So, it really focuses on anxiety, but it differentiates worry and panic and stress in the school system or at home. It could be families taking it. It's really geared for councilors or parents that work with the children or the student," says Burlin Sherrick, 2024 Allen Lima Leadership class.
The engagement lab is Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rhodes State College. There is no cost.
