LIMA — Lima Senior controlled every phase from the opening minutes Friday night, overwhelming Waite 94-17 at Lima Gymnasium in a game that featured extended playing time across the Spartans’ roster.
The Spartans wasted little time building separation. In the first quarter, Dashad Greer corralled an offensive rebound and kicked out to Noah Simpson, who buried a corner three to help push the lead to 21-0. Less than a minute later, Jeff Williams found Arthur Griffin for a basket and the foul, and Williams capped the quarter by drilling a buzzer-beating three from near the scorer’s table to make it 44-0 after one.
Lima Senior continued to add on in the second quarter. Simpson nearly converted again after a missed three, but Willie Foster rose above the crowd for the clean-up dunk to extend the margin to 56-9. Elynn Stearns followed with a highlight moment of his own, throwing down a full-rotation windmill dunk, and Amari Addy later made Waite pay from the perimeter when left open.
The victory moved Lima Senior to 7-0 all-time against Waite, with the Spartans finishing off the 94-17 win in decisive fashion.
