Back in May, the 10th annual Scrabble Run and motorcycle show was put on by Ohio Cycleworx, with all the proceeds going back to Family Promise. The event raised more than $7,900, which was given to representatives of Family Promise.

That money will go towards helping local homeless families as they look for employment and housing.

"It makes a tremendous impact for the families that we have in this area that are homeless," said Hellen Douglas, administrative assistant for Family Promise. "We currently have three families, so we're full, and we have a long waiting list of families waiting to get in. This will go along way in helping them get back on their feet and back in the community."

Family Promise also thanked Kerns Fireplace and Spa with a plaque for their contributions with the Scrabble Run for the last 10 years.
