LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The holidays are over but the season of giving continues as five local charities receive donations from the Sertoma Club.
The Lima Noon Sertoma Club hosted its annual donation presentation Thursday. With the money received from their Christmas auction, the club was able to contribute to organizations such as the Lima Salvation Army and the Children's Development Center of Lima.
"We are so thankful for this donation as you well know it just when the community reaches out and helps what the Salvation Army does on a local level. We just couldn't say thank you enough for that. It goes to food pantry, helping kids after school, so there's a lot of different programs that the salvation army can put this money towards and just help us continue what we do," stated Paul Downing, Lima Salvation Army.
"This donation especially at the beginning of the year we have classroom cost and teacher training that we would like to use this money for to help further our education for our kids and our teachers," commented Rayleen Arthur, Child Development Center.
Other recipients included the Lima Rescue Mission, Samaritan House, and Family Promise.
