Wednesday, Neighborhood Relief Ministries held a free food giveaway at UNOH.
Students were treated to a free meal and received a free box of food. Some of the boxes included pasta, cookies, soup, crackers as well as much more. They were also giving away apples, potatoes, and chips. The UNOHÂ basketball team helped hand out food and take boxes to cars. UNOHÂ Head Basketball Coach Caleb Williams says one of the team key pillars is service.
Williams says, "For us, opportunity to give back on campus is huge for them to learn those lessons. At the collegiate level, you get the academic experience, the athletic experience, but we also want to enhance the human experience. Teaching service. Teaching giving back is a way that we can do that and to be able to do it here on campus for our own student body is the best way to do it."
The giveaway was open to anyone in the Lima community.
