ADA, Ohio (WLIO) - A downtown Ada building caught fire on Monday, triggering the response from multiple local fire departments.
Just before 2 PM, the Ada-Liberty Fire Department was called to 125 South Main Street for a structure fire. People who live in the apartments on the second floor were able to get out. Mutual aid was called in from fire departments in Hardin, Allen and Hancock counties, including ladder trucks to get on top of the blaze. The restaurant Viva Maria's is located in one of the buildings.
According to scanner traffic, the roofs and walls were starting to collapse and the fire was spreading to near buildings. We will have more information from officials when it is released.
