OSU Lima is seeking input for a project designed to promote community wellness and fellowship.
Friday evening, the South Jackson Community Garden held one of its Final Friday gatherings. It gives the Lima community a chance to come out and learn what the garden project hopes to achieve. The South Jackson Community Garden won't just be for growing food. Plans include building an amphitheater and a shelter house where future events and programs will take place. There are a total of 12 sponsors for the garden, and each of them is looking for input from the community about future programs and events that will be held at the garden site.
"This is our way of promoting the site, getting the neighborhood involved in the South Jackson Community Garden site. So they get to know it. We get their input about what they want to see happen here. This is their project, so we want the neighborhood involved," said Nancy Bowen-Ellzey, OSU Extension field specialist community economics.
You still have a chance to give input for the project. Two more Final Fridays are planned for the end of August and September.
