The two candidates running for U.S. Senator Rob Portman's seat will face off against each other before the November election.
After turning down offers from the Ohio Debate Commission, Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance has agreed to two debates with Democratic congressman Tim Ryan being put on by television stations in Cleveland and Youngstown. Those will happen on October 10 and 17 respectively. The third offer for southwestern Ohio has not been confirmed.
Vance and Republican Governor Mike DeWine refused the Ohio Debate Commission's offer to face their Democratic challengers in two debates. DeWine told Your News Now last week, he will be with Democratic challenger Nan Whaley during editorial boards that could be streamed on the internet.
