The park's most charismatic employee is an education animal helping many around the Allen County area learn more about reptiles.
The fun-filled evening included tortoise games and crafts, turtle cupcakes, and yes, a tortoise spa.
Before the night was over, the birthday boy had a chance to enjoy his very own watermelon cake.
“He was a pet tortoise that was re-homed to the parks. So, sulcata tortoises are popular pet tortoises, but they're also the most commonly re-homed. They're a big commitment. They get very large. They can live to be 100-200 years old. They're cool animals, but it's nice when you can rescue one,” said Marie Walton, JAMPD Naturalist.

This Thursday, the park is having a feeding day from 4 to 6pm, allowing all volunteers to come help clean and feed all the animals.
