LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Artspace Lima hosted their 38th annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational Friday night.

With nearly 400 entries, around 200 were picked to be displayed at this invitational sponsored by Kewpee. The awards were given in seven different areas: digital media, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, painting, and assemblage. Each section had first, second, and third place. 24 different high schools participated, and with this, students who excel at art feel as though their creations have a home.

Kewpee High School Art Invitational showcases student talent at Artspace Lima

"And to present it like a professional artist is our goal, and sometimes students don't have that opportunity. So, it's a nice thing for the schools to do to get here, but also the kids work really hard at making their statement," says Sally Windle, Executive Director at Artspace/Lima.

Sharing art is just as important as sharing any other talent, and so Artspace felt it was necessary to give these students a moment to shine. A full list of the winners can be found on our website.
