LACCA Officially Changes Name to West Ohio Community Action Partnership

The Lima Allen Council on Community Affairs takes a new name to better represent all the areas they serve.

LACCA has changed their new name to the West Ohio Community Action Partnership, or West Ohio CAP for short. Wednesday they unveiled their new name at their Celina location.

Chief Executive Officer Jacqueline Fox says the agency serves more than just Allen County, but also started serving Auglaize and Mercer Counties last year, and now their new name reflects that.

Fox says it may take a while for all of the 10,000 people they serve to adjust to the change, but it's a big step for the organization. "We've been LACCA for 23 years, so it's going to be a while before we get used to the name change, but really for those who don't know us and have never worked with us before, we didn't want any confusion that we were not serving these counties," said Fox.

Fox says they have a media campaign to let people know about the change and promote the services they offer.

They have already created a new Facebook page to accompany the name change. You can find them by searching West Ohio CAP on Facebook.
