LACCA Promotes F.A.N. Club in the Community

Members of the Lima Allen Council on Community Affairs are informing the community about one of their parent nurturing programs. LACCA representatives spoke to the Allen County Family and Children First Council about their Fathers are Nurturers, or F.A.N., Club. The club offers classes to help dads with employment, financial education, and general fatherhood curriculum.

They have about 40 participants right now, and they want to involve more fathers in the community. "We've got a lot of fathers in our community that are really trying, they just don't have anyone fighting for them or being an advocate for them, so that's what we're here for, and we're learning the more we spend on these guys, whether it's through group, or one on one, we see a lot of these guys what to be part of the program, they want to be better fathers, they just need a little push, and need somebody in their lives to help them out," said mentor coach, John Gonzales. The next F.A.N. Club class begins Tuesday, February 23rd at 9:00 AM.
