Law enforcement investigates hit-and-run accident involving a Perry school bus

According to law enforcement, Perry bus number 10 was carrying 38 students and 1 driver westbound on 117 when a driver in another vehicle collided with the school bus.

PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - A Perry School District bus was involved in an accident on Wednesday.

Just after 4 p.m., the Perry Fire and EMS, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, were called out to the 5,000 block of State Route 117 for a Perry School District School bus involved in an auto accident.

Perry EMS and fire were called out as a precaution. 

According to law enforcement, Perry bus number 10 was carrying 38 students and 1 driver westbound on 117 when a driver in another vehicle collided with the school bus. The stop sign extension arm of the bus sustained minor damage. Luckily, none of the 38 students or the driver of the bus were injured.

Perry EMS and fire were called out as a precaution. The vehicle that made contact with the bus did not stay on the scene. Law enforcement is trying to actively get footage off the bus camera to see what happened, as the incident is still under investigation.
