LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The 53rd annual Christmas Tree Festival is now open at the Allen County Museum.
More than 140 trees fill the museum, each decorated by local organizations, businesses, churches and community groups. Visitors can also take in student artwork from Lima City Schools, enjoy live music and visit the MacDonnell House free of charge. Kids can also catch Santa when he stops in for visits starting Friday.
“It’s just a really great opportunity for families to come back, and it’s great seeing the intergenerational experiences of the grandparents bringing their grandkids, and parents bringing their kids, because they remember coming when they were young,” said Christine Fowler-Shearer, executive director of the Allen County Museum.
The festival runs through Sunday, Dec. 7 and is free to attend, though donations are accepted. Hours and additional details are available at allencountymuseum.org.
