First graders at Lima's Liberty Elementary School finishing up a week of learning about the weather with a special guest.
Your Hometown Stations Chief Meteorologist Jason Mikell visited the classroom to teach the students about the weather. They discussed what weather is and how the seasons change. He also talked about instruments he uses in his profession as a meteorologist. Mikell enjoys going into the classroom and speaking to the youngsters. The students really enjoyed hearing from Mikell and shared what their favorite season is and how they have seen the weather change.
They also enjoyed the tornado project he brought in for them to make together. Mikell says making a tornado is simple. Just put water, a dash of vinegar and dish soap along with a little glitter in a jar. Put the lid on tight and spin to see the magic happen.
