LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce kicked off eclipse weekend downtown at the new amphitheater on Saturday.

The Solar Smash Bash had vendors, food trucks, games, and a concert for local and visiting families to enjoy. They could get plenty of memorabilia, from photos to shirts, and talk to the Lima Astronomical Society to learn more about what's going to happen on Monday. There were also Moon Pies for sale, with all proceeds going to Indian Lake tornado relief.

Many out-of-town guests are already here, so the free event was the chamber's way of introducing them to downtown Lima.

"We want them to feel welcome to come here and to just really get blended into the whole community, whether it's all the businesses, all the restaurants, all the retail that we have here in our community. And we want to make sure they feel welcomed everywhere they go," said Julie Klingler, the director of programs and community development for the chamber.
