LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima City Schools honored teachers and staff who reached significant service milestones during a special ceremony Monday evening.
Superintendent Jill Ackerman, members of the Lima Board of Education, district staff, and their families gathered at South Science and Technology Magnet to recognize employees for their years of dedication to the district.

A total of 25 district employees were honored for reaching 25 to 35 years of service within Lima City Schools.

Organizers emphasized the importance of acknowledging those who have devoted much of their lives to serving the community and its students.

"We feel it's important to recognize them because these are people that have come, they've fallen in love with our school district, they've fallen in love with our students, they've fallen in love with their career and their passion, and they return every year, and they just make an entire career out of it. And it is, it is noteworthy, and they do deserve to be recognized," said Jill Ackerman, superintendent at Lima City Schools.

25 years of service—Kimberly Purdom, Misty Lee, John Zell, Dawn Andrews, Jennifer Tate, Karin Dorsey, Robert Boughan, Denise Thomas, Kerri Bronson, Charles Maidon, Chapin Fraser, Annette Zell, Patricia Richardson
30 years of service—Tricia Winkler, Lorie Henline, Teresa Gantz, Tina Pauff, Moses Williams
