A doctor that has provided health care for more than 40 years in the area has officially retired.
Dr. J. Stephen Sandy was the Director of Hospice Care and wraps up a career that had him work at Lima Memorial and Putnam County Hospice.
"I think as you hear many say the people around me and the people I worked with both at Putnam County Hospice and here at Memorial, the support they have given us and given me for over 45 plus years of medicine, that will be a great reminder of all those people and my appreciation for their help," Dr. Sandy said.
Lima Memorial and Putnam County Hospice presented the doctor with a plaque, celebrating his impact in local health care.
