LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Memorial Health System is kicking off National Hospital Week by recognizing some of its associates.
They gave 13 people their "Champions of Great Care Awards." The award winners come from all areas of the hospital and were nominated by their peers and patients for taking that extra step every day for the people that they serve.
Lima Memorial uses the week to show appreciation toward the associates and volunteers who continue the same mission that started 125 years ago.
"In terms of these individuals, it's quality care and a family atmosphere. They provide that quality care, and they go above and beyond; they are the ones that are always willing to smile and take the extra step to make sure the patient is taken care of," says Mike Swick, president and CEO of Lima Memorial Health System.
Lima Memorial has other things planned for National Hospitals Week, including providing meals for all the associates this Thursday.
