Lima Police Department K-9 units put on a presentation for the 7th and 8th grade students. The two units demonstrated the importance of their obedience and how they might conduct some tracking in the field. School employee Kelly Huffman said it's important the students know all the roles the police play in the community. She said this week is all about learning about what negative addictions look like while also seeing what positive choices the students can make.

"I think it's really important for the kids to not see law enforcement as a negative," said Huffman. "They're a very positive role in our community and they play a really important role in protecting us from some of the negatives that happen as a result of addiction."

Positive Addiction Week wraps up Friday with the annual 5K which all the Catholic schools partake in.
