COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) - Governor Mike DeWine is taking new steps to improve safety for young drivers.
Governor DeWine and the Department of Public Safety teamed up to launch Roadready Ohio, a free, state-supported smartphone app designed to help new drivers log and improve their practice behind the wheel. The app allows learners and their supervising adults to track the state-mandated fifty hours of driving practice. It also scores each session in real time, analyzing braking, speed, turning, and acceleration.
This launch comes at the same time as a new Ohio law that requires 18 to 20-year-olds to complete the same practice as younger drivers. You can download the app and find more resources for teen drivers at teachyourteentodrive.ohio.gov.
