One local organization is starting the year on the right note. Officials at the Lima Rescue Mission say their rooms are full, but so are their pantry and closets.
They say thanks to generous donations over the holiday season from local individuals and businesses, they have all the necessary items to serve the men who come through their doors.
The Lima Rescue Mission provides shelter for homeless men and youth at risk. They have been almost near capacity during the entire year of 2015, but say it's even more crowded throughout the holiday season. They've had 175 new people this past year. That's more than their average of 150. They have room for 28 men at a time.
Just last night, 23 stayed overnight. They say it's hard to determine when they will reach capacity or what circumstances may bring the men in.
