ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Challenges are motivation for opportunities, and the Heir Force Generals are using that to their advantage.

Lima Rotary hearing about Heir Force Community School updates

It was established as a charter school in 2001 with around 40 students through the governing authority of the Cornerstone Harvest Church.

Heir Force Community School Executive Director Doctor Willie Heggins talking to the Lima Rotary Club about the bright future for the school. It was established as a charter school in 2001 with around 40 students through the governing authority of the Cornerstone Harvest Church. In 2012-2013 it became a community public school, now educating approximately 300 students.

“Heir Force Community School is a public school just like any other public school.” Dr. Heggins goes on to say, “We receive the same FTE (full-time equivalency) dollars from the state. I have the same standards of accountability as any other school here. The only difference is the financial aspect. Meaning we don’t get the tax base dollars.”

That being any funding from tax levies at the home school district of the Heir Force student. Heggins says their objective is to prepare the next generation of leaders for tomorrow. The school started in a new building this year in downtown Lima and are currently making renovations at 799 North Main Street for their elementary school building along with a playground across the street. They hope to have both ready for the 2025-2026 school year this fall.
