LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Senior's Class of 2024 received their diplomas and celebrated the end of high school on Saturday morning.
This year, about 170 students graduated from Lima Senior, and of those, many are already planning to go on to work in healthcare, engineering, education, and other important, in-demand fields. The Class of 2024 also earned a total of $1 million in scholarships. This year's valedictorian was Hailey Hahn, who plans to combine her welding skills and passion for art to run her own business one day.
"It took a lot of hard work and dedication. Self-motivation was really key in this. There were many times where I wanted to quit or questioned whether it was worth it, but I think that the hard work really did pay off," Hahn said.
Salutatorian Ar'iana Custer adds that the last four years haven't been easy for any of her classmates, but they should take pride in seeing their high school education through.
"Remember, just keep your head up. If we can do this, if we can graduate, we can do anything. A lot of people don't even graduate, so just to be here is amazing, and I'm proud of each and every one of us," Custer continued.
Ar'iana Custer plans to pursue a career in finance and hopes to eventually work as a financial analyst for a large corporation.
