LIMA, OH (WLIO) - For many in Lima, you can't have Christmas without the Lima Symphony Orchestra's annual Bells, Brass, & Bows concert.
This year's concert was led by guest conductor Michael Repper, the youngest American to win the Grammy Award for Best Orchestral Performance. He's the second Grammy winner to perform with the symphony this season. The Lima Symphony Chorus also joined the stage for sing-alongs of Christmas classics with the audience. With the wide variety of holiday songs included in the show, Bells, Brass, & Bows had something for everyone.
"Everybody celebrates Christmas differently, everybody celebrates the holidays differently. It's great to just play festive music no matter whether it's secular or sacred. This concert and I think orchestral concerts in general, whether or not they're pops concerts like this or even standard traditional classical music, for me is all about trying to bring people together," Repper said.
Up next for the Lima Symphony Orchestra is A Swingin' New Year's Eve With Sinatra and Friends at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center on December 31st at 7:30 pm.
