VAN WERT, OH (WLIO) - Lincolnview Local Schools will be changing their educational service center affiliation.

Lincolnview Local Schools will switch affiliation from Western Buckeye ESC to Mercer County ESC

Despite the change of affiliation to Mercer County, Superintendent Snyder still says they will still work with Western Buckeye in the future.

On Monday evening, the Lincolnview School Board of Education unanimously voted to switch the district's affiliation from the Western Buckeye ESC to the Mercer County ESC. According to Lincolnview Superintendent Jeff Snyder, the school district has been utilizing some curriculum and professional development services from Mercer County ESC since 2019. Despite the change of affiliation to Mercer County, Superintendent Snyder still says they will still work with Western Buckeye in the future.

"We've been, right now, academically number one in our county, and we're very proud of that. We want to continue that, and some of that work is directly based with what they've done [Mercer County ESC] and also with Western Buckeye... and now, we've just made the determination [Monday Night] with the board meeting that we are going to change our affiliation with Western Buckeye and go with Mercer County. However, I want to make sure everyone understands that we're going to keep services with Western Buckeye. We're going to pick things that we feel like that they do very, very well, so we're not completely leaving Western Buckeye. The affiliation is the only thing that is changing," says Jeff Snyder, Superintendent, Lincolnview Local Schools.

The affiliation change to Mercer County ESC will be in effect for the next two academic years.
