LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Allen County Republicans are bringing in Ohio’s new workforce coach to speak at their annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner.

Newly appointed Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel will be the keynote speaker at the April 23 event. Tressel not only coached the Ohio State Buckeyes and Youngstown State Penguins to national championships, but he also served as president of Youngstown State University for nine years.

Gov. Mike DeWine has tasked his new second-in-command with evaluating workforce needs across the state and developing a plan to address them.

“When the Jim Tressel decided to accept the appointment, he made it very clear with the governor, and the governor very clear with them that it's Ohio first, and Coach Tressel is certainly looking forward to traveling the state. He's already had a number of meetings to find out exactly where we are throughout our state, including our county, and what the needs are for the people of Ohio,” said Keith Cheney, chairman of the Allen County Republican Party.
