DeWine orders state employees to return to office by March 17

Governor DeWine said the move will help the state better serve the public and maximize the use of its remaining office space.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — Governor Mike DeWine has issued an executive order requiring all permanent employees of state agencies, boards, and commissions to return to the office for a five-day, in-person workweek by March 17.

DeWine said the move will help the state better serve the public and maximize the use of its remaining office space. He emphasized that both actions are in the best interest of Ohio citizens.

The return-to-office date marks five years since the COVID-19 pandemic forced states and private employers to reimagine work, a shift that continues to influence the economy.
