The Bradfield Community Center hosted a special talk this morning to help out Lima's older residents.
A speaker from St. Rita's visited the community center to show how someone's diet may be able to steer someone clear of Alzheimer's. Highlighted in the talk were certain foods that cause a response in the brain and how the audience can bring those kinds of food into their regular diet. Getting this information to older people is something that might make a big difference.
"I feel it's very important to let our community, especially our older community know about the disease and how they can prevent Alzheimer's," said Nancy Haines, who is the Clinical Nutritional Manager for St. Rita's.
The audience also learned how to spot symptoms of Alzheimer's in loved ones.
