FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — Two nine-win teams met on the hardwood as Liberty-Benton welcomed Minster in a tightly contested non-conference matchup.

Minster set the tone early in the first quarter with defensive pressure. Jenna Belcher came away with a steal and finished at the rim, giving the Wildcats an early four-point advantage. The senior finished with 10 points.

The Wildcats continued to stretch the floor when sophomore Sophia Dirksen knocked down a three-pointer, part of her eight-point night.

Liberty-Benton responded from deep as well, with University of Toledo commit Corra DeHart connecting from beyond the arc to cut the deficit to three.

Despite the Eagles fighting back, Minster maintained control. Megan Gerken scored off the glass for Liberty-Benton and finished with a game-high 14 points, but the Wildcats answered with strong drives to the basket, including Kali Schmiesing drawing contact and converting the bucket.

Minster stayed composed down the stretch and held off Liberty-Benton in the second half to secure the win.

The Wildcats improved to 10-3 with a 35–33 victory over the Eagles.
