ADA, Ohio (WLIO) — Jefferson and Ada met on the hardwood with recent history favoring the Wildcats, who had won eight of the last 10 meetings entering the night. This time, it was the Bulldogs who controlled the action.
Jefferson struck first in the opening quarter as Luke Rode powered his way to the basket, lowering his shoulder and finishing through contact to put the Wildcats on the board.
Ada answered quickly in transition. After a miss, Zack Zimmerman pushed the pace and found Blake Zoladz streaking ahead of the defense. Zoladz finished at the rim and picked up the hoop and the harm, tying the game early.
Later in the quarter, Jefferson regained the lead when Gavin Howell connected from beyond the arc. Howell finished with 13 points, giving the Wildcats a three-point edge.
From there, Ada began to take over. Kayleb Hickman went to work from the top of the key, driving inside for a strong finish. The senior led all scorers with 16 points as the Bulldogs steadily pulled away.
Ada closed the door in the second half and cruised to a 68–44 victory over Jefferson.
