N. Korea hinting at willingness for negotiation talks

After the North Korean involvement in the Winter Olympics, the future may be filled with negotiations for peace.

The North and South Koreans competed under one team for the Olympics, which has never been done in the winter games. A general of North Korea met with the South Korean President and reportedly said that North Korea is willing to talk.

Ohio Northern University assistant political science professor Nusta Carranza Ko, a native of South Korea, says that meeting with the North Koreans is a better choice than the alternative of a conflict.

"Definitely coming to the table is much better of an option than not coming to the table - so this is a peaceful step, whether or not it will actually materialize into something more concrete, I think that’s up to the White House to decide," said Ko.

Ko also says that this is the first time that North Korea has been so open and willing to negotiate.
