LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Neighbors Helping Neighbors program gave a woman a special Mother's Day gift.
Many residents of Lima received significant damage after a string of severe storms, and the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, ran by Lima City Councilman Derry Glenn, has been helping those in need. A Lima woman lost her roof and could not afford new repairs, so she contacted Glenn, and he replaced the roof free of charge just in time for Mother's Day. Glenn is now asking for more donations as needs in the community have increased.
"It's so important that we show our hometown pride. In Lima, that we care about our folks in Lima, Again, this is all over the city, not just the 5th and 6th wards, it's all over the city," says Derry Glenn, Lima 6th Ward city councilman.
