Here is this week's highway construction update from the Ohio Department of Transportation for the week of June 3, 2024. All work is weather permitting. County information will be added as they are received from ODOT.


ALLEN COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following construction projects are weather permitting.

 


I-75 web 

INTERSTATE 75 PROJECTS

Interstate 75 in both directions between Napoleon Road and State Route 235 will have shoulder closures for guardrail upgrades.

US 30 small web 

U.S. 30 PROJECTS

U.S. 30 between Interstate 75 and State Route 235 is restricted to one lane for pavement repairs. Visit the project webpage for more information: PID 107874. Work on the State Route 235 interchange ramps will begin June 10. Visit the project webpage: PID 107874

 

U.S. 30 at Defiance Trail, access changes began Thursday, June 30, limiting movements to right-in and right-out at the intersection. The median is barreled off and the pavement will be removed soon.


 

State Route 65 between Lutz Road and State Road is restricted to one lane through the end of June for gas line replacement on both sides of the highway.

 

State Route 115 between Cole Street and Kissing Hollow Drive closed on Monday, May 13 for approximately 90 days to repair the slope and replace a culvert. Visit the project webpage for more information: PID 111498

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 65 to U.S. 30, back to SR 115 (see map).

 

State Route 117 in the unincorporated community of Westminster may have temporary traffic impacts for finishing work. Visit the project webpage: PID 109435.

 

State Route 117/State Route 309 at the intersection of Bellefontaine Avenue, Kibby Street, Leonard, and Harding Highway in the city of Lima will have traffic impacts for traffic signal work. Lanes may close and flaggers may be necessary.

 

State Route 309 between U.S. 30 (the work includes the ramps) and the village of Elida will be restricted to one lane for repair and resurfacing. Visit the project website for more information: PID 116507

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

West bound entrance to U.S. 30 will close Monday, June 3, for a few hours. Detour: SR 309 to Lincoln Hwy, back to U.S. 30 (see map).

 

Various routes in the city of Delphos may have traffic impacts and temporary lane closures for finish work on the Safe Routes to School project. The roads impacted include Pierce Street, Franklin Street, and Jefferson Street. Visit the project webpage: PID 113503


 

DEFIANCE COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Defiance County. All outlined work is weather permitting.


US 24 

U.S. 24 PROJECTS

U.S. 24 in both directions between U.S. 127 and Baltimore Street work began in May 2024 and will continue through Sept. 2025 for a pavement rehabilitation project.  Visit the project webpage for more information: PID 117367.

Please be aware of the following traffic impacts:

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • U.S. 24 is restricted to the right lane in both directions.
  • CR 115 is closed to through traffic; only right turns are permitted (right-in and right-out).

 

U.S. 24 westbound, the driving lane just west of High Street/Switzer Road overpass, will be closed for a slope stabilization project for approximately 60 days. Visit the project webpage.


US 127 Small Web 

U.S. 1274PROJECTS

U.S. 127, over the Maumee River, south of the village of Sherwood, opened to traffic on May 17 following a bridge replacement. Work will continue off the highway. Please be alert for construction activities through the area.


State Route 15/State Route 18 between Christy Rd. and Water St. over the Tiffin River closed on Monday, May 20, for approximately 100 days.  Access for local traffic to all properties will be maintained throughout construction. Visit the project page: PID 105148

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detours: SR 18 to U.S. 127 to U.S. 24, back to SR 15 (see map).

 

State Route 18 and State Route 281the Dommersville Road and E. Second Street intersection in the city of Defiance, will have traffic impacts for traffic signal work. Traffic will be maintained; flaggers may be necessary.


 

HANCOCK COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Hancock County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

 


I-75 web 

INTERSTATE 75 PROJECTS

Interstate 75 at County Road 99 project is delayed and will now begin June 3, see the traffic impacts below for details. The project will reconstruct the interchange with a Diverging Diamond design and upgrade the County Road 99 corridor between Technology Drive and North Main Street. TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • I-75 southbound entrance ramp will close on June 3 for approximately three days.
    • Detour: I-75 north to SR 18 to I-75 south (see map)
  • I-75, in both directions, the left lane will close June 3 for bridge pier construction. Traffic will use the middle and right lanes.
  • Main Street at CR 99, the north leg of the intersection, will close on Monday, June 10 for approximately five days.
    • Detour: CR 99 to CR 18 to CR 215, back to Main St. (see map)
  • I-75 northbound exit ramp will close on June 17 for approximately three days.
  • Detour: I-75 north to SR 613 to I-75 south, back to CR 99

US 30 small web 

U.S. 30 PROJECTS

U.S. 30 between U.S. 68 and State Route 37 will be restricted to one lane for resurfacing. Visit the project webpage: PID 114926

 

US 224 small web 

U.S. 224 PROJECTS

U.S. 224 at County Road 140 will have traffic impacts for traffic signal work. Traffic will be maintained; flaggers may be necessary.

 

U.S. 224 at Township Road (Trail) 237, the work to install a new traffic signal is delayed until further notice.


 

State Route 12 at Interstate 75 in the city of Findlay is restricted to one lane for pavement repairs. The closed lane is open for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Work will resume on Tuesday, May 28. Visit the project webpage: PID 107874  

 

State Route 12 at County Road 9 will have traffic impacts for traffic signal work. Traffic will be maintained; flaggers may be necessary.

 

State Route 15 at County Road 169, the finishing work is expected with potential shoulder or lane closures on both routes.   

 

State Route 613 at Interstate 75 on the southbound side of Interstate 75 will close on Tuesday, May 28 for approximately nine days for concrete pavement repair (see detour map).

  • Southbound entrance and exit ramps:
    • Detour:
      • I-75 southbound exit ramp to SR 613 westbound: SR 18 west to SR 235 to SR 613
      • I-75 southbound exit ramp to SR 613 eastbound: SR 18 east to SR 613
      • I-75 southbound entrance ramp from SR 613 west of I-75: SR 613 to SR235 to SR 18 to I-75
      • I-75 southbound entrance ramp from SR 613 east of I-75: SR 613 to SR 18 to I-75
    • SR 613 between the overpass and TR 14 will be completely closed, no local traffic will be permitted.
      • Access to the Pilot Travel Center and Home Depot Distribution Center will only be accessible from eastbound SR 613.
      • Detour: SR 613 – SR 613 to SR 235 to SR 18, back to SR 613.

 

HARDIN COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Hardin County. All outlined work is weather permitting.


 

State Route 67 between Township Road 85 and Township Road 95 will close on Monday, June 3, for approximately five days for a culvert replacement.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: SR 235 to SR 309, back to SR 67 (see map).

 

State Route 309 between the city of Kenton and the Marion County line will have lane restrictions the week of June 10 for chip seal operations.

 

Main Street (State Route 31) between Ohio Street and Carrol Street in the city of Kenton closed on March 4 for 240 days for reconstruction, curb and gutter, and sewer.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: U.S. 68/Detroit St. to Letson Ave., back to SR 31/Main St (see map).


 

LOGAN COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF June 3, 2024

SIDNEY, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect state highways in Logan County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting. Visit the ODOT website and OHGO.com for travel updates.


NEW IMPACTS:

State Route 47 Lane Closure – Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 47 between the Shelby/Logan County Line and SR 235 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 21. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.

CONTINUING IMPACTS:

State Route 347 Lane Closure - Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 347 at U.S. 33 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, April 29 through Thursday, June 6. Traffic will be maintained through portable signals. Crews will be chip sealing the roadway.


 

MERCER COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF June 3, 2024

SIDNEY (Friday, May 31, 2024) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect state highways in Mercer County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting. Visit the ODOT website and OHGO.com for travel updates.


CONTINUING IMPACTS: 

U.S. 33 Lane Closure – Expect intermittent lane closures on U.S. 33 between U.S. 127 to the Mercer/Auglaize County line from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Thursday, May 9 through Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway. 

State Route 119 Lane Closure – Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 119 between SR 716 to Westview Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, April 22 through Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway. 

State Route 219 Lane Closure – Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 219 between CR 219A to Club Island Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, April 22 through Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.

UPCOMING IMPACT: 

State Route 118 Culvert Replacement - SR 118 will be closed between Bell Road and Kuhn Road from Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14. Crews will be replacing two culverts.

  • Detour: SR 219 to U.S. 127 to SR 29 

 

PAULDING COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Paulding County. All outlined work is weather permitting.


US 24 

U.S. 24 PROJECTS

State Route 613 just west of the village of Oakwood, the work to repair drainage is delayed until further notice.

 

State Route 613 between U.S. 127 and State Route 500 line will be restricted to one lane for moving berm repair operations.


 

PUTNAM COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Putnam County. All outlined work is weather permitting.


 

State Route 115 between State Route 15 and the Allen County line will be restricted to one lane for berm repair operations.

 

State Route 189 between Road 22-S and County Highway S on the east side of the village of Fort Jennings will close Monday, June 24, for approximately five days for a culvert replacement.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Detour: SR 634 to U.S. 224 to SR 115, back to SR 189 (see map).

 

State Route 613 through the village of Leipsic and West Leipsic is closed for curb replacement and sewer repairs.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • SR 613 between SR 65/Eastom Street and CR 5 closed on May 20 for approximately 60 days.
  • Detour: SR 109 to SR 65 to U.S. 224 to CR 5, back to SR 613 (see map).

 

State Route 613 between the Paulding County line and the Hancock County line will be restricted to one lane for berm repair operations.

 

State Route 634 between, approximately one mile south of the village of Cloverdale will close Monday, June 17, for approximately five days for a culvert replacement.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Detour: SR 114 to SR 66 to U.S. 224, back to SR 634 (see map).

 

State Route 694 between the village of Cloverdale and the village of Glandorf will be restricted to one lane for berm repair operations.


 

VAN WERT COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Van Wert County. All outlined work is weather permitting.


US 30 small web 

U.S. 30 PROJECTS

U.S. 30 westbound between U.S. 127 and Dutch John Road, the driving lane will be closed on Tuesday, June 4, for pavement repair.

 

U.S. 30 rest areas between State Route 49 and U.S. 127 in Van Wert County closed on Jan. 11 for approximately one year for complete reconstruction of the buildings.


U.S. 33 Web 

U.S. 33/SR 49/SR 81 PROJECT

U.S. 33/State Route 49/State Route 81 around the village of Willshire will have lane restrictions resurfacing project.  Visit the project website for more information: PID 116688. Work will take place in the following areas:

  • U.S. 33 between the Indiana state line and the village of Wilshire
  • U.S. 33 between the village of Wilshire and the Mercer County line
  • SR 49 between the village of Wilshire and the Mercer County line
  • SR 81 between the Indiana state line and the village of Wilshire

U.S. 224 PROJECTS

U.S. 224 eastbound entrance ramp to U.S. 30 will close on Monday, June 3, for approximately two days for pavement repair.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: Van Wert Decatur Road to U.S. 127 to U.S. 224/U.S. 30 (see map).

 

U.S. 224 between Convoy-Heller Road and Richey Road will be restricted to one lane on Wednesday, June 5, for pavement repair.

 

U.S. 224 between U.S. 127 and the Putnam County line will be restricted to one lane for resurfacing. Visit the project webpage: PID 109926


 

State Route 81 and State Route 118, at the intersection both routes will be restricted to one lane on Thursday, June 6, for pavement repair.

 

State Route 81 between Willshire Eastern Road and Harrison Willshire Road closed on May 6 for approximately 150 days to raise the roadway profile and replace two culverts. Access for local traffic to all properties will be maintained throughout construction. Visit the project webpage: PID 110498

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 49 to U.S. 33 to SR 118, back to SR 81 (see map).

 

Leeson Avenue between Shannon Street (State Route 118) and Rose Drive in the city of Van Wert closed on Feb. 7 for 245 days for reconstruction including curb and gutter, storm sewer, and a multi-use path on the north side of the roadway.

 

County Road 418 (Lincoln Highway) between Convoy Road and John Brown Road will have lane restrictions for resurfacing.

 

Converse Roselm Road over U.S. 30 is closed until further notice as a safety precaution due to a bridge strike caused by an over-height vehicle.

 

Stripe Road over U.S. 30 is closed until further notice as a safety precaution due to a bridge strike caused by an over-height vehicle.


 

WYANDOT COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Week of June 3, 2024

LIMA, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) The following work is anticipated to affect highways in Wyandot County. All outlined work is weather permitting.


US 23 US 30 

U.S. 23 & U.S. 30 PROJECTS

U.S. 23 rest areas between the village of Carey and the city of Upper Sandusky in Wyandot County closed on Jan. 11 for approximately one year for reconstruction.

 

U.S. 23/U.S. 30 at the State Route 53/State Route 67 interchange, the passing lanes are closed for a pavement replacement project. Visit the project webpage: PID 107872


 

State Route 37/State Route 67 on the southwest side of the village of Marseilles will close on Tuesday, June 4, for approximately 30 days. Visit the project webpage: PID 107768

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 294 to SR 67, back to SR 37

 

State Route 53 between County Highway 110 and the railroad crossing on the west side of the city of Upper Sandusky will close Monday, June 10, for approximately five days for drainage installation.

State Route 67 between County Highway 93 and Township Highway 94, near the village of Marseilles, will close on Monday, June 3, for approximately 30 days.  Visit the project webpage: PID 107768

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 37 to Larue-Marseilles Rd to SR 309, back to SR 67.

 

State Route 199 at County Highway 44 and County Highway 47, over an unnamed tributary to Little Tymochtee Creek, will be restricted to one lane May 28 – June 3, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. for shoulder work and structure rehabilitation.

 

(Postponed) State Route 294 between the village of Harpster and U.S. 23 will close for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. A new start date is not determined at this time.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: U.S. 23 to SR 199 to SR 67 back to SR 294 (see map).
