LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A Democratic congressional candidate made a stop in Lima Wednesday to speak with voters.

Tamie Wilson met with local democrats at The Met to hear questions, concerns, and talk one-on-one about her platform. Wilson says that Congressman Jim Jordan isn't passing enough bills to help Ohio's 4th district, and she already has nine bills that she plans to propose. If elected, she aims to eliminate taxes on overtime pay, tackle food deserts, and bring more jobs to the area. She also supports both the 2nd amendment and reducing violent crimes like domestic terrorism and shootings.

"We have to take a comprehensive approach. I'm a person that believes in addressing core issues, and so when you look at crime and violence, there's always an economic element to it. So we really need to provide more opportunity for people to alleviate all of their struggles," she said.

Wilson also expressed concerns about Jim Jordan's comment that the facts of Biden's impeachment probe remain unchanged after witness Alexander Smirnov was found to have Russian ties.

"Jordan really needs to step down as the chair right now, and Congress really needs to do an investigation to see if he willingly or unwillingly is being used as a foreign asset. That is extremely important, that's a matter of national security, and that is something that they need to do," she continued.

Wilson will be running against Steve Thomas for the Democratic nomination in the March 19th primary. The winner of the primary will face Jim Jordan in November.
