After nearly two terms in office, the secretary of state has made the process to start a business more efficient and cost effective.Â
Ohio is on pace to have another record year for people starting businesses. The Secretary of State's Office has made the process easier for budding entrepreneurs to do the paperwork to start their business. Everything is online and what took four days to complete, now takes less than four hours. According to Secretary of State Jon Husted, the new process has made Ohio one of the easiest places to start a business in this part of the country.Â
"We have cut 40% of the bureaucracy we no longer need any tax dollars to run our office. This is how government should work. You can provide better customer service at a lower cost and make Ohio more competitive at the same time,"Â said Jon Husted, Ohio Secretary of State.
Because of the efficiency of the process, Husted says the cost of starting a business in the state has dropped from $125 to $99. For more information about starting a business in Ohio, log on the secretary of state’s website.
