Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon Kennedy spoke to the group about the ideals of professionalism in their field. Kennedy says there are three core ideals that law professionals must consider, all revolving around their relationships with the people and the court systems they encounter in their career.

The presentation qualified as a Continuing Education Program credit, something law professionals are required to earn. Kennedy says brushing up on topics such as these are important because you cannot learn everything about every law in law school.

"We have continuing legal education requirements to keep lawyers abreast to make sure that they are staying on top of the topics and we require some ethics and professionalism because it's a constant conversation," said Kennedy. "We should always look internally at ourselves and make sure that the profession that's noble and honorable, [does] it look like that when we look at it or when the public looks at it as well."

Practicing attorneys are required to complete 24 hours of continuing legal education every two years.
