The annual Ottawa River cleanup is coming up. On Saturday, April 23rd, hundreds of volunteers will be combing the banks of the river picking up trash.
Over the years they have collected tons of trash that would have ended up in the river causing issues with the watershed. The event has drawn people from all over the region and organizers say they can always use more hands.
Shaunna Basinger with Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission explains, “This is a really great opportunity for you to literally be a part of the solution. Get out there, clean a little bit, spend some good time with friends and family, and just be a part of helping keep our community as clean and beautiful as we can.”
The Cleanup will be Saturday, April 23rd from 9 am to noon. Meet at the American Red Cross located at 610 S Collett St, Lima, OH 45805 to register.
