LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Young hunters had a successful weekend to kick off gun hunting season for deer.
This past weekend was strictly for hunters 17 years old and younger, and over the two days they harvested 10,039 deer. Which is the 2nd highest harvest on record for the youth weekend, with 20 more deer killed in 2007. Hunters at any age can try to find their trophy buck or doe in the 7 day gun hunting season that starts on November 27th and the bonus weekend December 16th and 17th.
