LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima’s newest municipal court judge is ready to serve the people of the county.
John Payne was sworn in Thursday morning, replacing retiring Judge David Rodabaugh. Before being elected as Judge, Payne served as a magistrate for the Lima Municipal Court and worked as a city prosecutor and for Lima’s Law Department. Payne helped start a veterans’ treatment court when he was a magistrate, and besides hearing cases, he will oversee the drug court as Judge. Payne is ready to follow through on the promise he made to voters.
“Holding people accountable and restoring them back to our community in a better position than they came here,” says Judge John Payne, Judge John Payne. “Those are my two overarching goals as I serve. I do want to take the time to thank the voters for their trust that they have given me. I am excited and ready to take this position from day one and get to work for people in this county.”
Payne will start hearing arraignments on January 2nd.
