It's less than two months until the November election, and boards of elections are preparing across the nation.
The Allen County Board of Elections is taking care of business in their regular meetings. They are preparing ballot language and how it will be laid out, along with assigning all of their poll workers. Notifications have been sent out, and they are waiting for responses to see if they will have enough. If they don't, they will be looking for more, and here is what's involved.

"Anybody who has been to the polls on election day will be familiar with most of what's done. When a voter comes in, they have to be checked in on the poll pad. Then they're given a ballot; the voter goes to vote, and that's run through the tabulator. So at each of those processes, there are things that we need poll workers to help the voters, guide them through the process," said Morgan Bode, director of the Allen County Board of Elections.
To be a poll worker, you must be a resident of Allen County and have no felony convictions. If interested, contact the Allen County Board of Elections.
