While there are some differences between them, the Lima Area Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Lima Rotary Club, and other local service clubs are all about supporting the community. The president of the Eagles spoke to Rotarians about how they raise donation dollars through their gambling. Last year they donated more than $470,000 to a variety of local organizations including some safety services.

"We got into law enforcement because we found a need that the guys were needing certain equipment. The body cams, we donated towards those. We donated toward night vision goggles for the fire department. We've done a lot for safety services," explained Doug Wise, president of the Lima Area Fraternal Order of Eagles 370.

Wise says that they also donated $5,000 to each school district in Allen County last year.
