LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Pro-life supporters hit the streets in Sunday's freezing temperatures to share their message.

Activists at Heartbeat of Lima's annual Walk for Life hiked about half a mile from Lima Central Catholic High School to the non-profit's office to make a statement against abortion. Many carried signs with messages like "A person's a person no matter how small" for passing cars to see. Laws on abortion have been changing a lot across the country since Roe V. Wade was overturned last summer, so for pro-life demonstrators, it's as important as ever to walk for their cause.

"The Walk for Life is even more special this year for us to be able to promote the sanctity of human life and that each life is valuable and we are all created in the image of God, so that's a very important message. We're here today in solidarity just to say that's what we believe and that's what we're committed to," said Brenda Keller, the president of Heartbeat of Lima and Putnam County's board of trustees.

After their walk, supporters were given tours around Heartbeat's facilities, seeing rooms like the new maternity boutique for expecting mothers that are having a hard time affording new clothes.
