DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — The Professional Bowlers Association is rolling through West Central Ohio this week.
After making a stop in Minster, the professional bowlers hit the lanes of the Delphos Bowling and Recreation Center for the Dave and Diane Kill Central Open. Around 70 bowlers are competing for cash prizes, while visiting smaller bowling alleys during regional competitions also helps them sharpen their skills before the tour season begins.
“Bowling in a smaller center, there's a lot more traffic because there's not as many lanes, so there's a lot more transition that we see. So, being able to keep up with that and stay ahead of all the transition, how the lanes change game to game is just going to help me whenever I get back out on tour. Going to these smaller communities where everybody knows everybody, but everybody also really supports the PBA makes it feel like we're kind of going to a small little home away from home. So, it's exciting to see people that we only get to see maybe once a year,” said Kris Prather, PBA bowler.
After Delphos, the professional bowlers will move on to Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater for more competition and cash prizes.
