The arts coming to life today as a professional dancer teaches master classes to some Lima City School students.
This class at Liberty Arts Magnet School getting schooled in the art of dance by Countess Winfrey from the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. She hopes to instill the love of dance and that dance is for anyone as a way to express themselves.
"Dance is for everyone. It's not just for certain people who get to get to take dance classes at a studio or go to a conservatory, but dance is for everybody and so I want them to feel like they can make a connection to it. I want them to feel comfortable inside of it, and most of all I want them to have fun and walk away with some really great fundamentals they can apply to any part of their lives, their growing lives," said Countess Winfrey, a professional dance artist.
Winfrey is choreographing a dance for the students' winter performance. She is an artist in residence and will be at the school through Thursday.
