OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) - Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa is beginning a new project.

The church recently broke ground on a new Parish Life Center. The center will include a hall that can seat up to 150 people, as well as a large gathering space. The new building will be connected to the church on the east side. The center will be used for parish activities and will also be available for parishioners to use for family gatherings. Church leaders hope the addition will provide many opportunities for the community.

"This will be for the parish family. This will be a place where we can come together to learn, learn about the Lord, learn about life. This would be a place where, in addition to, not replacing, but as building on what happens in church, where we continue to pray together and get to learn more about who we are and how the Lord is part of our lives and joyfully serve him," said Fr. Scott Kramer, pastor with Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

The church plans to begin construction on the project on Monday.
