Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 to make stop in Continental on Saturday

CONTINENTAL, Ohio (WLIO) — Rail enthusiasts and history buffs will have a rare opportunity to see the world’s largest steam locomotive this weekend as Union Pacific's Big Boy 4014 travels through northwest Ohio on its way to Philadelphia.

The historic locomotive is scheduled to begin its day in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before making a 30-minute stop in Continental near Oak Street and Main Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

After departing Continental, the train will continue east, arriving in Fostoria around 2 p.m. Big Boy 4014 is traveling to Philadelphia as part of celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary on July 4. Union Pacific is reminding spectators to stay at least 25 feet away from railroad tracks and to follow all safety guidelines while viewing the locomotive.
