Renovations coming to Ohio Theater

The look of an historic downtown Lima building will be changing.

The Design Review Board approved a request to make changes to the outside of the Ohio Theater to make it safer for pedestrians on the sidewalk below.  This includes removing two of the arch shaped parts of the facade, which are leaning forward and could become a safety issue in the future.  The board is excited to see that changes are coming to a part of Lima's history, but some things are staying the same.

"What we're happy with is that a good percentage of the building, and at least the main, center parapet - arched wall - will maintain, and stay, which we think is culturally and vitally important to downtown," said Michael Frueh, Chairman of the Lima Design Review Board.

The renovations are expected to start sometime in the near future.
