A local agency created to help youth in the Lima area is asking the community to come out and see what they have accomplished the past year.
SAFY's Youth Drop-in Center has helped more than 160 children in its first year. Kids ages 12 to 17 can come to the center if they're struggling with their day to day lives. The mission is to help these children recognize and express their feelings, as many have been exposed to drama or trauma in their lives. The kids can come back as often as they want.
SAFY Treatment Director, Judy Lester is inviting the community to their facility tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an open house, celebrating 1 year of serving youth. They're at 658 West Market Street, suite 112. The center is funded through a grant from Ohio's Office for Victims of Crime Assistance
